As a vegan, should I be expected to serve animal products at my wedding?

The Spit Roast Company

Not if you dont want to….

But if your guests might enjoy the reception food more if there was meat included,

it would be a decision as to whats more important to you.

Besides, there are some lovely vegan dishes/recipes out there, perhapes give your Caterer

a list of some dishes/recipes that you like, to give them an idea what you would like served.

We would certainly try to offer a Vegan Menu, but it might be at a higher cost, certainly offer Vegetarian

and cut out the Meat if that suits you.

Then everybody’s happy….!!!

Should we have an open bar?

My friends are big drinkers. Can we ensure it doesn’t get too messy?

The Spit Roast Company

We suggest you hire just a Bar staffer to tidy, top up and clear the area, whilst the wedding/reception is going on.

We hire Bar staff with our Wedding catering and so do local pubs, if in a regional area. It is the most economical option.

I hope this helps,

What is your preferred dining style?

Not sure whether to do buffet, food truck style, sit down on cocktail! They all have their benefits and this is the one thing I am vague on

The Spit Roast Company

We are a Buffet Style Spit Roast Caterer, we offer a Buffet where guests are able to choose what they prefer to eat, as well as how much they choose to eat.  We also offer cocktail style Catering.  We think Buffets are still elegant and can be dressed up with our Fruit Carvings that Chef does for our Couples as a gift. We can set up elegant Buffets anywhere.  See our web site for photos.  www.thespitroastcompany.com.au

Is it rude or unacceptable to only serve a main and wedding cake?Ashlee B

After quite a few issues with our first venue, we found a second venue that we love. Unfortunately they aren’t able to cater to the late ceremony schedule we originally wanted. They have offered the solution of serving extra canapes before the ceremony but skipping the entree entirely so that the dining finishes within their time frame. Our guests will still get a choice of 2 mains and wedding cake for dessert with a fruit platter and cheese, but I don’t know if it is rude not to have an entree. It feels weird to me to not serve an entree. Thank you.

No, its not Rude to skip the Entree, especially if Capapes are served before the ceremony.

The main thing is that your guests have enough food to keep hem happy, as many guests

turn up to weddings without eating all day, and arrive hungry.  So I think that would work

for all, not a problem!!   I hope that helps.

in your experience, are dry weddings boring?

The Spit Roast Company

They dont have to be.  If you supply Non-Alcoholic Sparkling wine or allow some BYO for those who need it.

Just make sure the food is good and plenty of it, as the food/drink can be the entertainment if in absense of a band or DJ or Dancers.
